My name is Marlow and I've been playing guitar for 18 years. I have an Associates of Arts (Guitar Emphasis) and am finishing up a Bachelors in Education (Music Emphasis). I have studied classical guitar and jazz guitar at the College of Southern Nevada and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (respectively). I have been active in the Las Vegas music scene for the past 10 years, playing in hard rock groups, performing singer/songwriter music and, most recently (7 years), rhythm guitarist for a gypsy jazz group called Hot Club of Las Vegas.
I enjoy teaching privately and have had the pleasure to teach in my own studio, as well as, my own beginning guitar class for the Eductional Outreach program at UNLV.
Recently, I have been focusing on composing music and bettering my teaching craft. I'm looking forward to expanding my studio and teaching more students the beauty and enjoyment of playing the guitar!
Performed as rhythm guitarist for one of the best gypsy jazz bands in Las Vegas for many years; performing at various local venues (Aliante Casino, Palms Casino, Lake Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan, South point Casino, Bootlegger Bistro, etc) as well as in the States of Washington, Utah, Nevada and California. Performed at the DjangoVegas concert festival as a headliner and supporting groups (2012, 2013, & 2014).
Highlights include performing at the annual NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) in 2013 & 2014.
Although I've only had one lesson, Mr. V took the time to ask me questions about my goals and what types of music I liked. He had me play some exercises to see where I was at in my ability and can now plan my lessons accordingly. I look forward to learning new things and progressing in my guitar-playing ability.+ Read More
Marlow is a fantastic young man. He was able to diagnose my limitations and work around them, as well as help me work on them. He knew where I was coming from without my ever having to tell him, and whenever an issue came up, he helped me through it by explaining things in a very professional way. I highly recommend Marlow as a teacher+ Read More
