I am a Touring/Session Keyboardist, Music Instructor, Arranger, Music Writer, Mix Engineer, and Producer based in the Los Angeles Area. I have performed with individual artists and bands locally and across the country, recorded, arranged and produced singer-songwriters and bands, as well as scored for orchestra & TV shows. Additionally, I have produced a catalog of original music both instrumental and vocal. I grew up in Chicago where he was influenced by the city’s great musical diversity – from studying Bach and electronic music at the American conservatory to playing blues in the famous South Side blues clubs on a regular basis. Performing with many rock bands and R&B groups led to my first recording contract. The contract, playing keyboard and synthesizer for the experimental electric funk band Lovecraft brought me to Los Angeles. There I furthered my capability at the world renowned Dick Grove School of Music where I studied arranging and film scoring with Lalo Schfrin, Mundell Lowe, Jack Smalley, among others. I have honed his expertise in creating, performing, and facilitating projects as well as writing and collaborating with artists locally and throughout the country. I am at home in a wide range of genres. To the question: what kind of music do you play? The kind that has twelve notes. I embrace the never ending challenges and possibilities that creative musicianship provides. I have a passion for collaborating and facilitating, finding what works best for the individual artist. My philosophy of teaching is to provide students with a map and the tools which will enable them to discover and articulate their own creative voices. “The arts all about the heart”, would sum up my guiding philosophy.
