Guitar with Mark L.

I started playing the guitar when I was 15 years old and I only started taking it seriously when I was 18 years of age. At 21, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in music. Back in Malaysia, I had the opportunity to teach children aged 8-15 for 6 months as a part time job, performed at 2 local indie music/ art festivals, and collaborate with other musicians in the scene. Following that, I continued my degree studies in Berklee College of Music and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Performance. While I was at Berklee, I spent most of my time there studying and playing jazz. Other than that, I also had the opportunity to work with people who come from various walks of lives. Among the opportunities that I had, one which stood out for me was the chance to be a film score session guitarist to play on other student's projects. After I graduated from Berklee, I made the move to Los Angeles. I am currently playing for singer-songwriter Sofia Zorian and blues/rock group Luke Elder & The Infinite Ways. I grew up on 60-80s pop music thanks to my parents, and my music palette has evolve over the years, so I have a deep love for many genres of music. Some of the examples of genres that I have listened and played are blues, rock, pop, motown, jazz, metal, and classical. I have been playing guitar for 11 years now and still find great joy in discovering something new about instrument each day!
