Drums with Mark J.

Mark Johnson started his teaching career in 2002 at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music. The Brooklyn Conservatory teaches students of all ages, and many of Mark's younger students have been accepted into New York City's prestigious LaGuardia Performing Arts school. In addition, Mark has published a book, "Tablas to Drums," which outlines a clear and cohesive teaching concept that combines Indian tabla concepts with Western drum set playing. As a performer, Mark has played drums and toured the world with jazz masters such as Abbey Lincoln, Jackie McLean, Stanley Turrentine, Freddie Hubbard, and many more. He is also an accomplished tabla player.
