I have a lot of experience playing in a variety of settings from solo and ensemble classical guitar, funk, R&B, jazz, rock, jam, and pop. I received a guitar performance degree from Towson University in Spring of 2012 and have been teaching since 2008. I feel comfortable teaching all levels and all styles of music with jazz and classical guitar being my specialties.
*** Lesson Details ***
Each student can expect an entirely personal learning experience. I am well qualified to teach all varieties of music but what the student wants to learn is the most important thing. I keep things light and fun but have no problems getting serious when a student wants to. I usually work from a variety of books but I can teach the very basics if a student is totally new to the instrument.
Most lessons begin with warmup exercises followed by technique practice. Depending on the wish of the student the last part of the lesson can be catered to whatever they want to learn.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Basement with instruments and seating for parent. He has a dog.
*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide a guitar and books and I expect students to provide attention and an open mind.
*** Specialties ***
I studied classical guitar and jazz guitar for four years at Towson University. I could teach both disciplines as well as performance and theory up to the collegiate level. I also specialize in improvisation in jazz, blues, and rock music.
