Overview

I am a composer and multi-instrumentalist with a strong background in classical, contemporary classical, popular and experimental music. I hold an an MFA in Electronic Music and Recording Media from Mills College and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Columbia College Chicago.

I am most interested in helping students listen with a more refined ear, discover and control sounds on their instrument, and learn problem-solving strategies that they can apply to any number of musical road blocks. I teach proper technique as a tool for better musicianship rather than an end in and of itself: music requires dedication and hard work, but that work should be fun and rewarding too!

NOTE: I will be out of town from September 8th-October 4th for a music project. I am available to teach online during that time, or resume lessons when I return!
