    About Marie F.

    Marie F., mezzo-soprano, earned her Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Ms. F also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Rutgers University. Most recently, she performed in Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Muse), Albert Herring (Cis), Il Tabarro (Pierrot, Lover), Gianni Schicchi (Buoso Donati), Le Nozze di Figaro (chorus), as well as partial roles of Mercédès in Carmen, Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, Carrie in Sister Carrie. Ms. F is an avid dancer and experienced performer in musical theater. She received training in ballet and tap through the Academy of Dance Arts and Lustig Dance Theatre. As a Dance Captain in residence at Theatre Arts Center, NYC, Ms. F worked with professional choreographers teaching musical theater dance technique to children. Recent musical theater performances include Legally Blonde (Joyce Riley, Delta Nu), The Little Mermaid (Leeward, Ensemble), and Young Frankenstein (Ensemble) at Plays in the Park. Currently, Ms. F is pursuing her Teacher Certification in YogaVoice® - a pedagogical tool for voice that combines the technologies of yoga and bel canto singing. For those interested, Ms. F. is eager to help students understand the power of their voices through yoga. Ms. F enjoys working with singers to help them develop their vocal technique and musicianship. She has experience teaching children as well as working with individuals with developmental disabilities. She hopes to help all of her students grow in musical ability, confidence, and professionalism.
