Violin with Mariana L.

**** Hello! I am currently booked, so I am not accepting students at the moment. :( I started playing the violin at the age of 9 and have taken private lessons ever since. I joined the Youth Orchestra of Greater Columbus when I was 12 and moved up to the symphony orchestra at 15 years old. I was assistant concertmaster for Honor Orchestra in the first violin section my junior year. Senior year, I was concertmaster for Honor Orchestra and concertmaster for my school’s Large Group Performance Evaluation event. I made All- State Orchestra my senior year of high school and began teaching lessons that same year. What are my lessons like? It depends on the age and goals of the student. I have a different approach for teaching young students than I do for teaching adults. Generally, I will ask students to buy "The ABCs of Violin for the Absolute Beginner" by Janice Tucker Rhoda. I also emphasize practicing scale, so scales are normally the warmup at the beginning of the lesson, that is for students with some experience. I will adjust to the student's needs and teach in a way to best suit them.
