Realize your Dream to Sing with a professional and experienced teacher!

I grew up loving to sing - you too? Singing in the playground, waiting for the bus, everywhere and anywhere. Eventually, I started private lessons, went to college for a music degree, and then studied some more. What could be more rewarding? I've been singing publicly since I was 18, professionally since I was 25 and teaching since 2005. I have a lot of experience!! I also know what stage fright feels like, and remember what it felt like to be on the student side of things. So - I will be kind, but I will also push you to realize YOUR dream to sing better! No Experience Necessary! I teach kids to adults from the age of 7+ Singing training includes: Breath support for a stronger voice, Understanding and reaching high notes (it's not as hard as you think - promise) Vocal exercises to strengthen your singing muscles Ear Training to help you sing on pitch consistently Correcting any bad habits...and of course - Practice favorite songs in the style you love!! About Malya M.

I’ve loved singing as long as I can remember, and played piano, guitar and started writing songs as a teen. In college I studied music (BA in Voice - U of Wa) and went on to work with master coach Lois Hartzell for many years - concentrating on classical music although my first love was musical theater. Stage fright was a problem for me, but I learned to work through it and became a highly accomplished performer in opera, oratorio, musical theater, religious ceremonies and many many concert programs. As a teacher, I am very respectful of all people, and have a strict INCLUSION policy. If you are gay, trans, BIPOC, on the spectrum, or just uniquely you - I treat everyone with dignity NO MATTER WHAT. But I do want you to improve, and if you have talent, drive and determination - I will match that energy with information. I will be kind and encouraging but also truthful. You will learn from me.

What I love about Malya is that she strongly encourages you to take your newfound talents and techniques out into the world for a spin. Her helpfulness with preparation builds confidence for new singers auditioning for the very first time. You will do things you never thought you could. She is an awesome person to have in your corner!

I have been a long time student of Malya Muth. I chose her originally because of her instructional credentials compared to others. Plus from talking to her, I liked her approach to the physical nuances that come into play. I was initially and needlessly concerned about taking instruction from a teacher with a higher voice. Silly. Malya’s ability to watch me, understand what is occurring, and instruct me about improvements has been superb. Plus she is incredibly positive and supportive. Working with her enriches my life. And I have recommended her to other family members who have worked with her.

Malya is an exceptional teacher. Under her guidance, I was able to strengthen my vocal skills and realize my full octave range for choral singing. Malya helped me develop good singing habits, and I learned to sing out loud with confidence. I would highly recommend Malya.
