    About Madison K.

I absolutely love to teach. There is nothing more energizing than helping someone achieve their goals or discover something they didn’t know about themselves. I discovered this passion while teaching during graduate school, where I earned my Masters of Fine Arts in Acting. Being a sensitive person, I have a deep understanding of how the desire to perform and to do so powerfully and courageously can live side by side with fear, vulnerability, and even lack of confidence. I aim to empower my students and push them to be the performers, storytellers, artists they hope to be. If you’re new to acting, it would be my honor to introduce you to the field and get you started with confidence and all of the necessary skills. From there, I can help you explore your own creative voice and work towards specific goals, such as auditioning for your first play or preparing for your first role! In my 10 years of teaching, I have coached students auditioning for graduate school as well as professional theatre companies. I have adjudicated high school Shakespeare competitions, taught acting workshops at schools (K-12) across the Intermountain West, and taught required courses for acting majors earning their BAs in Theatre Arts. I have worked with a third grade teacher on implementing theatre into her existing curriculum. I have created theatre/acting classes for toddlers and physical theatre/clown classes for teenagers. As an actor, I have performed with professional theatre companies across the country- including the Utah Shakespeare Festival, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina (SC), Santa Cruz Shakespeare (CA), Idaho Shakespeare, Nevada Conservatory Theatre, The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville (CA), Lyric Repertory Company (UT), and more. I have personally been through the large scale graduate school auditions (URTAs) and am familiar with the process. I have nailed auditions and bombed them too. Usually, ‘bombing’ an audition or role is entirely to do with lack of preparation. I’d love to help you prepare.
