I am a classically trained singer having sung professionally in various styles of music from Opera, a capella, Mariachi, Broadway to Jazz and Barbershop. In Private voice lessons my intention is to help you reach your goals while helping you access a freely produced sound. I also teach vocal techniques that will provide you with tools for expressive singing. This is applied to a variety of music styles and is a way for your artistic aesthetic to develop and grow organically. For children, I provide group classes to gain music literacy and musicianship skills in a supportive environment. This may be applied to solo singing as well. I usually place a student in a private lesson setting from middle school aged kids through adulthood. Any child younger than this should be learning in a group setting for fundamental music literacy before taking on the voice as a solo instrument. In my many years of teaching there have been very few exceptions to this rule.
