Flute with Lynlie S.

Lynlie Simpson is passionate about all things flute! Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, she has been playing flute since 2008 and teaching since 2014. She is a recent graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she received a Master of Music degree in flute performance. Lynlie enjoys performing in churches and has experience playing for weddings and funerals. She frequently substitutes with the Delta Symphony Orchestra in Northeast Arkansas. In 2018, she attended the Anatomy of Sound masterclass, where she performed for Amy Porter. At UMKC, Lynlie was chosen to perform in masterclasses with Leone Buyse and Jim Walker. In high demand as a private teacher, Lynlie currently teaches at REW Music in Lenexa, Kansas. She is dedicated to making flute lessons a personalized experience, allowing each individual to reach their full potential. With experience teaching flute students from ages 10-70, Lynlie believes that anytime is the perfect time to learn music. Also passionate about early music education, Lynlie was a Kindermusik educator in Jonesboro, AR. She taught students ages 2-5. During her music education internship at Arkansas State, she created her own lesson plans and taught students from kindergarten to sixth grade. Lynlie received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Arkansas State University. She received a Master of Music degree from University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2021. Her teachers include Mary Shemon, Michael Gordon, Mary Posses, Tara Schwab, Joe Bonner, and Bonnie Kimbrough.
