Blues Guitar

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
I first started playing guitar when I was 14 years old. By 15, I was already teaching lessons. I studied electric guitar for 4 years at Master Music Institute in Peru, where I was able to learn in depth technique, music theory, composition, arrangements, and a variety of exercises for teaching. I now have over 10 years of guitar teaching experience, and my passion for teaching and playing guitar continues to grow. I can teach a variety of genres, from metal, to classical, to rock, pop, and disco. I am available to teach in both Spanish and English. My classes are based on a methodology where patience, understanding and discipline are the most important factors for success.

Enjoy this cover of 687 Days by David Maxim Micic, a very famous guitarist and producer in the genre of modern instrumental music.
Enjoying class with one of my young students!

Practice is the key to success

David Gilmour is one of my main musical influences. Here's a cover of his song, On an Island, that I created with my coworker Kevin.
A cover from one of my favorite bands, Pink Floyd. This is a solo that I really appreciate.
A track from a favorite cartoon, Dragon Ball Z. In my classes, you learn the songs that YOU really enjoy, no matter what that may be.

I have always wanted to learn an instrument but was always too intimidated, so I didn't know what to expect when I took my first lesson with Luis. But as soon as I met him I could tell he was super laid back and excited that I wanted to learn guitar. I was so relieved he wasn't judgmental of how bad I was, and he seemed genuinely happy to play together. It's also really exciting to see my skills improve.... I wish I would have started earlier!
