I own a Bachelor’s Degree from the Conservatory of Music “Vincenzo Bellini” in Catania (Italy); a Master’s Degree from Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Rotterdam (The Netherlands); a second Master’s Degree from the Conservatory of Music "Bruno Maderna" in Cesena; a third Master’s Degree from Texas State University-San Marcos (U.S.), where I was awarded the 2014 “Piano Achievement Award”; and a Doctoral of Musical Arts’ Degree from the Frost School of Music, University of Miami, where I also earned a keyboard pedagogy’s cognate with Naoko Takao and served as Teaching Assistant. At the University of Miami, I was also the 2016 recipient of the Presser Award for my project of publishing and recording Ottorino Respighi’s early piano works. My life is paved with performance, teaching, research, and organizational activity. I have been prize winner in more than twenty national and international piano competitions, and have played at prestigious venues in some of the major cities throughout Europe and the U.S. (Salzburg’s Wiener Saal, Rotterdam’s Doelen, Catania’s Teatro Massimo Bellini, Cesena’s Teatro Bonci, Rome, Bologna, Leipzig, New York, Miami, Austin, Atlanta, etc.). During my formative years, I have worked with dozens of teachers: Antonella Scuderi, Flavio Meniconi, Franco Scala, Aquiles Delle Vigne, François-Joël Thiollier, Antonio Ballista, Choong-Mo Kang, Gerald Fauth, Bruno Canino, Enrico Pace, Anton Nel, Jason Kwak, Boris Slutsky, Marina Lomazov, Tian Ying, Naoko Takao, Kevin Kenner, among others. Always eager to learn new teaching methods, I have been focusing for years on the pedagogical approach of Vincenzo Scaramuzza, who taught the very young Martha Argerich. Thanks to Franco Scala, I was be able to closely understand the peculiarities of this method, which I now apply to my own students. Please, read my full bio at lucacubisino.com.

Hi! I studied with Mr. Luca and everything he taught me was life changing. Not only as a pianist but as a human being. He is an amazing performer but also a wonderful teacher. He seeks excellence yet understands that each student is at a different level and moves as it's own pace. I loved being his student and I highly recommend him. Unfortunately, I couldn't continue studying with him because he moved to Miami to pursue his Doctoral degree. I wish him success in his wonderful career as a teacher and performer.

My daughter had the honor to have Mr. Luca for her very first piano teacher. She was only 5 yrs old when she began. Mr. Luca is not only an excellent pianist, but he is an amazing teacher & he is wonderful with young children. I was so impressed with what she learned from him. We miss him so much, but we are so happy for his career advancements, we only regret he had to move from Texas.

Luca has been incredibly instrumental in my current and future success as a musician. As a beginner student his teaching was a major factor in my acceptance to the Piano Department at Texas State University. Without his guidance, and commitment to seeing me succeed, I would certainly not have been able to accomplish the things I have, or be in the position that I am today. I am truly grateful and blessed to have met Luca and I wish him all the future successes he deserves.
