Loren D. Adams, Jr., is a 72 year young man with white hair. Married with Children, Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren. He lives with his wife Patricia on an Orchid farm in Haiku, on the Island of Maui. "I have been studying music and playing the piano since I was three years old and the piano accordion since I was ten. I love music and think of it as a language of the heart and soul. For my livelihood I am a 51 year veteran Visionary Artist with work in museums and important collections in nine countries. While Art is my profession, music is something that I am fully engaged in every day. I often think of many of my Art-works as music made visible and often my work is inspired by great music. Being a classically trained Pianist, the piano accordion is my chosen instrument. I also love to sing, and not just in the shower. I'm the Choir director in our church and often sing impromptu solos when I talk, because music is a basic part of my general character. I do speak and sing often since I'm an Ordained High Priest in the Mormon Church of Latter-Day Saints. I am of good report, having never been arrested, with a clear driving abstract, I am a well respected member of the community. Having lived on Maui now with my family for over 30 years, I am regarded as loyal, accountable, responsible, and trustworthy. Anyone is welcome to do a background check on me - I have nothing to hide. I would like to make it clear that, I'm not offering to teach accordion just for the money. Serving others is also one of my passions… working with those who will take studying with me seriously is a joy. My fee will reflect my own commitment to teaching and by paying what I deserve for my time, all things considered, my students will be "On the spot" for their own accountability. "There is no love without respect" Yes, my self esteem is high, but then, I am the best at what I can do. Therefore, I will only work with those who are serious enough to rise to the occasion - remembering that "punctuality" is the very nature of music. Fact: There are no other accordion teachers on Maui. It makes studying with me even more of a serious matter and commitment for the rare persons who want to learn the piano accordion. In Europe the accordion is more recognized than many other instruments. It's portable, has lovely sounding reeds that produce any kind or genre of music in the hands, arms, and body of one who can make it breathe. It's the most beautiful of all Instruments!
