Lillian is a Brooklyn based artist who specializes in movement performance and choreography. Lillian has been honored to work with choreographers such as Francesca Harper, John Zullo, Salvator LaRussa, and Lindsay Gilmour, and has performed at The Joyce Theater, Metropolian Museum of Art, BAM Fisher, Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dixon Place, and Irondale Ensemble.
Lillian’s choreography investigates the ways in which we internalize our surrounding environment. She is interested in the relationship between “mind,” “body,” and “emotion,” and the various ways they intersect within the self and the social world. She is drawn to experiences of the human condition and seeks to reveal the emotional body. As an artist, Lillian practices a holistic approach to movement and strives to expose honesty in her work.
Lillian's passion for yoga has been woven into her history as a lover of movement. Her practice supports a deeper sense of connection to the Self and universal community. Yoga is an integral aspect to her creative aspirations and drives her to bring people together through self and wellness practices. Lillian believes that yoga should be accessible to all populations and welcomes all walks of life into her class.
Lillian Stamey has been awarded a 200-hour yoga-teacher certification from Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, Mass.
