About Leslie H.
Leslie Hisman is a student of Julie Duncan-Thornton at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music. She is working toward her BM in Flute Performance. She is a member of the Burgundi Trio, the 2020 winners of the Lamont Chamber Honors Competition. They are also finalists for the Charleston International Music Competition's 2020 Contemporary Music Competition. She performed with the Lamont Symphony orchestra in the opera, Il Trittico by Puccini on piccolo. She is also a member of the Lamont Wind Ensemble. She has performed solos with this ensemble on both flute and piccolo.
She has performed in multiple masterclasses. At Lamont, she performed for Joachim Becerra Thomsen, WindSync, and Jacqueline Leclair. She also was a performer in the 2019 Artistic Flutist: Bonita Boyd International Flute Masterclass at the Eastman School of Music. There she took a lesson with Bonita Boyd, participated in a masterclass by Jeffrey Barker, and performed in a recital.
Leslie is a proud member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a music fraternity dedicated to advancing women in music. She is one of two 2020 winners of the JoAnne Kyhl Memorial Performance Competition, awarded each year to a Colorado SAI sister.
