Levels taught:
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
I've been playing for 15 years and teaching for 5. For beginners we will learn basic notation, fingering, scales and classic Irish rhythms (jigs, reels, hornpipes, etc.). For intermediate and advanced students we will spend time on improving fingering skills, learning ornamentation and refining breathing techniques. With beginners I will choose tunes that will help them progress to high proficiency, and with the more advanced students I will encourage them to choose tunes they are specifically interested in learning. If I don't know them, we'll learn together!

About Lee L.

I love Irish Traditional Music, and one of the best parts is its history of sharing!

Lessons are fun, informative and a good balance between "Lets work on this skill,""Let's learn a new tune," and "Here's a fun fact!" Also made it easy to work lesson times into my, at times, insane schedule. Very encouraging and got me comfortable with actually playing in sessions at the local pub. Highly recommend.

Lee is a great instructor - engaging and fun to work with. I have noticed significant improvements in my playing over the last few weeks, and my family is appreciative too, to the point that I no longer need to hide in a remote corner of the house to practice :-)
Highly recommended.
