Hello! My name is Lauren! I recently graduated from Millikin University with degrees in Vocal Performance and Theatre, and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in Opera Performance from Oklahoma City University. In addition to performing professionally for over a decade around the U.S. and abroad, I have a passion and fondness for teaching. Nothing brings me more joy than watching a student have a breakthrough!

As a voice teacher, I have experience teaching all ages and experience levels, from young beginners to collegiate performance majors. I have taught a range of genres, from classical to musical theatre, to pop/rock. I believe in choosing repertoire that sparks joy, and that good technique can be applied to all styles and genres.

As an actor, I have experience with several methods, including Stanislavksi, Meisner, Chekhov, Hagen, the Alexander Technique, and the Margolis Method. I believe that all of these schools of thought can come together in the form of an actor's toolbox of skills. I also have experience in Shakespeare and Improv.

I believe that performing is for everyone, and it can help everyone to grow, body and mind. Self expression is an essential skill, and good performance hinges on the ability to be in the moment. Now more than ever, we need people who are communicators, who are in touch with themselves and the world. The performing arts help to build those individuals.
