Elem Music Teacher with a BA from Texas Tech. I have taught piano lessons since 1991. I taught for 12 years in Whitney Texas as I taught at Whitney Elem. I taught 5 more years out in Round Rock Texas, through Musika. I have retired from teaching in public schools, for 23 years. I also teach trumpet lessons. I am accepting new students at this time. I have played trumpet as my major instrument from age 5 up to 55. I held first chair at Amarillo HS, and honored to play in the All Region bands, and made it to Area, I have also taken home plenty of one ratings, and I was honored at the six flags over texas, Jazz Festival for my trumpet playing.I then played on the trumpet rank, Band one, Texas Tech Goin Band From Raider Land, along with being in the Symphonic Band . Though my major instruments are piano, trumpet, I also taught myself how to play chords on the guitar. Once I learned how to play chords on the piano from learning music theory I was enabled to understand how writing songs works. What an adventure I have had in writing songs. I have written over 700 songs. You can find me on YouTube, check it out! When you take piano lessons from me we use the, Faber and Faber Piano Adventure series and I like to add other songs, whether it be, Contemporary, or classical pieces of music, composers such as Bach, Mozart, or Ragtime greats Scott Joplin. its your choice. I want you to enjoy the songs and styles you like to play. I use my own knowledge and skills and I utilize other websites for trumpet sheet music. No matter what level you are on you will enjoy learning as a beginner, or refreshing your past knowledge of playing as an advanced beginner, maybe an intermediate player, I can teach you music theory. How music works as it does. I love music and how it is capable of being written with 7 notes. I have taught many students throughout the year. I am confident you will grow to love music through learning how to play the piano. Reading is my passion. I love to help others read from children to adults. I can listen to you read all day long and correct your pronunciations. Do you need help then lets read together. Why not take lessons today, it's never too late to start. Music is a gift. Don't say, I wish I knew how? Step this new year and Take Lessons. Let's Go!
