I started tutoring and caring for children very early, volunteered in classrooms in preschools, elementary schools and special needs classes when I was still in school. I began my AA degree in Early Childhood Education in 1993, but had to put my schooling aside in favor of employment and parenthood. I worked with children from infants to teens over the next twenty years in childcare centers, day cares, school age programs, tutoring and private lessons.I completed my BA in Education in March of 2014.
Designed and oversaw lessons in English, math, art, science, logic, PE, sewing, forensics, penmanship, life skills, government, cooking, music, history, electronics, and all other subjects needed for elementary and middle school education.
I designed and implemented activities for parents and children, (infants through teens), up to sixteen hours per day and up to five scheduled activities and an open playroom at a time, for four days per year.
I provided care, tutoring, and entertainment for students twenty months through sixteen years of age.
I was hired as an infant teacher, but floated through all the classrooms as needed.
Worked primarily with infants, but also oversaw toddlers, preschoolers and school age students.
Planned and implemented activities for children infant through school age.
