I'm a working, professional drummer performing regularly with top artists in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, PA. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, and previously directed a collegiate jazz program. As a teacher, I believe in letting students choose their own paths. Set your goals, and I'll show you the quickest way to reach them, covering all the technical and theoretical information you'll need as we go. No matter your experience level or area of interest, I can help you get to where you want to go!

- Teaching since:
I'm a professional jazz drummer with 17 years of playing experience, and 10+ years of teaching experience. I have a Bachelors of Music Education from WV Wesleyan College, and a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University.
As a freelance performer, I've played in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York City, Washington DC, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and all around West Virginia. I've shared the stage with jazz artists such as Marcus Printup, Sean Jones, Richie Cole, Chuck Redd, Behn Gillece, John Swana, and many more.
As a teacher, I've taught private lessons for 10+ years, and was a full time professor of music at WV Wesleyan College from 2015-2019. At Wesleyan I lectured in music theory, music history, cultural studies, taught private lessons, and directed all jazz ensembles. Though jazz is my specialty, I teach all genres and styles from pop to rock to funk to Cuban to Brazilian and beyond.
My teaching is always student focused - the student is in charge of what they study. Once we establish what your goals are, I'll show you all the technique, theory, repertoire, and information you'll need to reach them as quickly as possible.
I look forward to learning about what you want to accomplish!
