With four wonderful years of musical teaching experience, I share my gifts and talents with those who too want to express themselves through music. I believe music is worldwide language and so do not intend to stifle any students individual style or sound with technique. Instead I allow the student to take the lessons and techniques learned and together we find ways to adapt to that style so that their best 'musical picture' is heard.
Apart from teaching, I enjoy singing at my own gigs, doing backgrounds for other artists, and working on new music for production in the studio. I have produced my debut album in 2007 and have released two new singles marketed to the Caribbean/reggae/Latin genre. I have directed elementary and middle school choirs and led the musicianship of musicals.
I believe if a student has their talent, dream, and enthusiasm packed in their backpack...then they are ready to start lessons.
*** Lesson Details ***
Students will expect to do Breathing exercises, scales and other warm up exercises.
Students will have worked on a few piece songs for their repertoire based on their goals and unique style. I expect students to practice outside of the classroom so that each lesson is a building process. I am pretty laid back but I take your progress seriously. I like to enjoy the lesson with you and see you develop. After 3 or 6 months students will know how to breathe properly and effectively for singing support and endurance. Students will have identified how to control and use their tone- understanding the different levels of the voice, chest, middle and head voice.
I prefer to work with younger students at a beginning or intermediate level, as opposed to adults and advanced students.
