I have been teaching voice and piano in the Dr. Phillips and Windermere area for four years. My studio is a fun learning environment and I take great pride in finding out what each students' goals are. I have two studios, one in Windermere and one in Dr. Phillips, for convenience. I do travel to students' homes on occasion, if my schedule allows. Lastly, there is always a very fun end-of-the-year recital.

Please note for singing, I teach a classical technique that lends itself to Classical and Musical Theatre types of singing.

My experience in music starts from an early age playing piano and singing in choirs. I attended Dr. Phillips High School, was apart of the Visual and Performing Arts Magnet and graduated with the Voice Department's Most Outstanding Graduate Award. I eventually earned a B.M. in Voice Performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University and I have recently received my Masters from UCF in Music.

Here is my professional bio:

Kristen, mezzo-soprano, has appeared as a soloist with the Palm Beach Symphony, Palm Beach Atlantic University Concert Choir, Palm Beach Atlantic University Oratorio Chorus and in the Palm Beach Atlantic International Piano Festival. Kristen has been a featured staff soloist in recital, concert and worship with the First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach. She has also been seen on the opera stage as part of the chorus with Florida Opera Theatre and Palm Beach Atlantic’s Opera Workshop performing scenes as Rosina in Il barbieri di Siviglia and Cheubino in Le Nozze di Figaro.

Kristen as a chorister, has sung with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and Chamber Choir, Atlanta’s up and coming Chamber Choir, Coro Vocati and Miami’s Seraphic Fire in their Professional Choral Institute Program. She has recorded with Stetson University’s Concert Choir: Duruflé Requiem and Seraphic Fire’s Professional Choral Institute, Brahms’ Ein Deutches Reqiuem, Op. 45, which was honored with a GRAMMY nomination.

A native of Florida, Kristen received her B.M. in Voice Performance from Palm Beach Atlantic University, studying with Bryon Grohman. She graduated cum laude, as a member of Who’s Who Among Universities and Colleges and received the University's Music Department’s Outstanding Graduate Award. Recently, Kristen received her M.A. in Music at the University of Central Florida, studying under Beverely Rinaldi.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to answer them!

Kristen did a wonderful job over the past few months teaching me from the ground up. I've noticed a major difference already, looking forward to much more!

She is very professional while at the same time very sweet and sincere, would recommend to anyone considering it!

Just finished my first lesson and I already have lots to work on. Kristen was very professional and helpful, while making me feel very comfortable and at ease the whole time. I'm very excited to see what all I am able to learn during these next few weeks.

We paid for 30 minutes for out first piano lesson. 20 minutes was counseling, talking BLA, BLA, BLA. Just a waste of time, energy and money. We received less than 10 minutes actually playing the piano. Kristen's schedule is very heavy because she attends school at irregular hours. She asked you to be prompt by showing up to appointments early, hence; making the consumer jerk their schedule around to fit hers. Also the piano lesson was at her residences. We had to wait out in the cold weather for a long time before we where invited in because of other students where in the house, etc.

Kristen is a wonderful piano teacher to our 6 year old daughter. She provides excellent lessons and material for her to practice and grow. Our daughter always talks about going to see Mrs. Kristen!
