I have a degree from the IU School of Music and have been teaching for over 23 years. This December will be my 17th annual student recital.
I perform instrumental acoustic guitar music for weddings, receptions and upscale cocktail parties. I've also recently put together a band to perform Southern Rock and Texas Blues and we’ve been getting a great response at all the events we’ve been playing this Summer!
I'm recently remarried, have a 13 year old daughter and love living in Colorado!
I started teaching through a music store in Longmont, CO soon after graduating from the Indiana University School of Music. After that store closed I continued teaching through different music academies and have averaged 30+ students per week.
My name is Kohl and I am a graduate of Indiana University's School of Music where I studied Classical Guitar & Music Theory. I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and have 23 years teaching experience. Over the years I have taught at Wildwood Music in Longmont & Louisville, Keith Music in Longmont, the CMIC in Longmont, the Music Education Center in Northglenn, and the Intermezzo Music Academy in Westminster. I'm now doing guitar lessons at my home studio in Northglenn.
As a teacher, I have a very straight forward, easy-to-progress approach that works great with any age of student ranging from beginning to advanced levels in the styles of Acoustic, Electric, Finger Picking, Classical, or 'Fingerstyle' Guitar!
My oldest son has been taking lessons with D. Kohl for 3 1/2 years and my younger son for about 6 months. We couldn't ask for a better teacher! My boys have very different personalities and D. Kohl is able to alter his teaching style just enough to get through to them wonderfully! And the results I get to enjoy while they practice is awesome!! I HIGHLY recommend!+ Read More
