Hey there! I'm a multi-instrumentalist with a strong foundation in Guitar, Bass, and Drums.

My lessons are curated behind a few things:
-the understanding of music theory (scales, chord progressions, rhythmic structure, song composition etc.)
-student's requests to learn specific songs and creating original song
-having FUN!

Because in my experience, you're not learning if you're not enjoying what you're doing.

After 6 years, of playing drums, I began my time as a guitar player. I grew as a guitar player tremendously fast because of my understanding and practice of rhythm. I began as an acoustic/folk guitarist, progressed into a blues/funk guitarist, and now play mainly jazz and neo-soul. I also am accustomed to teach many other genres. I now write, produce, and perform my own music and stream online.

When you take lessons with me you can expect that the lessons will increase your music theory knowledge, finger/hand dexterity, rhythm, ear training, performance abilities, and if desired, music industry expertise.

About Kevin C.

I am a Multi-Instrumentalist with a main focus in Guitar, Drums, & Bass. I have experience performing live, recording, and songwriting for 13 years. I focus my lessons around the understanding of music theory (chord progressions, scales, rudiments, rhythmic structures, picking techniques, etc) and making sure that the student is learning, and having fun, because if you're not having then you're not learning!

As a means of dedicating my life to music, I have built a music studio in my home to accompany my students, recording artists, and for my own personal projects. My mission to my students is to help them project their inner uniqueness to the world through the art and power of music.

I have a background in numerous genres including rock, funk, pop, blues, punk, jazz, folk, and acoustic music. Although each student is different, typical we will spend each lesson practicing warm ups, learning songs, improvising, and ear training. I look forward to helping you grow as a musician!

I am currently a student at The Recording Arts Center at Studio West Recording Studio. If you have ambitions to have your songs recorded or want to learn how to record on your own I can curate lessons around that as well!

Kevin worked with me on drums for a few months and was incredibly patient with me as he helped breakdown songs bit by bit, was super encouraging along the way, and extremely fun to be around. I couldn't recommend him enough!!

I always wanted to learn bass and I was referred to Kevin by a friend. She told me she’s seen him playing in bands around the area and he could definitely help you out. I started meeting with Kevin once a week and he knew how to break down the songs to help me learn them. He started teaching me the theory behind bass guitar and my scales. Fast forward a year later, I’m not confident enough to play in a band! I can’t thank Kevin enough for everything he’s done through our lessons. I always mention him when people ask me how I improved so much. Thank you Kevin!

Not only do I learn a lot of the intricacies of guitar playing with Kevin, but he is also a fun person to be around and chat about music. Definitely someone I would recommend to take guitar lessons!

I met Kevin while working at Taylor guitar factory. Jamming with him on breaks made work fun. Kevin is a versatile musician, and I learned a few progressions from him during our "jam breaks"
