I am a private woodwind instructor and professional freelance musician. My main instrument is saxophone and I double on flute, teaching both with the addition of beginner to intermediate clarinet. I have a Masters in Jazz Studies from Manhattan School of Music and BA in Classical and Jazz Performance from Michigan State University. I am experienced in many different genres of music and have performed and recorded with many jazz, latin, funk, soul, fusion, R&B, pop, and classical ensembles.
For me teaching is extremely rewarding, the fact that I get to share and guide students through this creative art form that is so dear to me is really a special thing. Music has many aspects and certain students gravitate towards different aspects then others. I focus on these specific aspects so my students get the most creative and intellectual growth.
