Kelly is an indie singer-songwriter and voice teacher in Nashville, TN. She earned her masters in Commercial Music from Belmont University in May of 2015, and was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Student Award by the faculty. While at Belmont, Kelly performed actively at school and around Nashville, and taught voice lessons and the non-major voice class as a graduate teaching assistant at Belmont. She also earned the honors of being a finalist in the Vanderbilt Star Songwriting Competition and a quarterfinalist in the American Traditions Vocal Competition, and composed music for the musical The Travels, produced off-Broadway as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2014. Her research centered on singer-songwriters and the intimate connection their singing voices have with their songwriting voices, and her findings have given her with new tools for evaluating vocal qualities and allowing these two types of voices to inspire each other.
