Kelly is an experienced musician and teacher hailing from the Los Angeles area. It is her strong belief that learning music dramatically effects mental ability in other non-musical areas and that everyone has the ability to succeed at learning an instrument. Kelly is a patient and fun flute teacher who has taught students ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
Kelly graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from California State University, Long Beach and is now pursuing her Master of Music degree in Classical Flute Performance at the Manhattan School of Music. She strongly believes in the value of scholarship and during her membership in the CSULB University Honors Program, she researched and wrote a 36-page thesis on American Impressionism. While teaching her studio of bright students in the LA area, Kelly had the honor of playing with distinguished groups such as the American Youth Symphony and the Young Artists' Symphony Orchestra of LA.
Created curriculum tailored to the student and assigned pieces and technical exercises to aid in the student's growth.
Taught a full private studio of bright students of all ability levels and ages.
Volunteer private flute instructor for economically disadvantaged kids through the 49er Academy in East Palo Alto, CA. Created the curriculum and helped secure instruments for the students to learn on.
