Never Too Late: Violin and Viola Lessons For Students of All Ages and Abilities

Having taught such a variety of students over the last 10 years, I believe strongly in tailoring the lesson experience for your unique interests and learning style. We will work together to determine your musical goals and make a game plan to achieve them. If you don't know what those are, that's okay! And if yours change every week, that's okay too! This learning experience is specific to you, I am just here to help!

    About Kathryn B.

Greetings! I have played the violin for 20 years, the viola for 10 years, taught lessons for 10 years, and have been a huge geek about all of these things for the entire time. I am currently living in Madison, WI, where I just started a doctoral degree in Viola Performance, because I guess I don't enjoy free time or sleep after all. Okay, but seriously. Most of my closest friendships and all of my best qualities as a person stem from growing up playing music. Hobby or career or both, it is an enormous joy and privilege to dedicate so much of yourself to listening and learning and connecting with others in this way. As a teacher, I love working with students of all ages and abilities, and strive to meet them exactly where they are so that we can work together as a team to pave their path forward. Every student has different musical interests, learning styles, technical barriers, and sources of motivation, and I believe the only sure way to go about this wrongly is to ignore all of that and teach everyone in exactly the same way. Let’s figure this out together, one day at a time.
