    About Kathleen O.

    (1)
Kathleen is an avid performer and prides herself on her versatility. She has sung with Boston Opera Collaborative, Longwood Opera, Cambridge Summer Opera, and continues to sing with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. She was a soloist and cantor at St. Theresa of Avila Parish in West Roxbury and continues to perform at weddings during the year. As a founding member of the River Rose Ensemble trio for voice, horn, and piano, the ensemble earned the recognition of her alma mater, Longy School of Music, in their alumni series concerts. She was a second place winner of Boston’s Best Voices contest in 2014, and has delved into the popular music realm. She was a lead singer in a 9-piece funk band and frequently performed in Boston’s most popular music clubs. Kathleen has high expectations, but her teaching style is positive, nurturing, and encouraging. She focuses on proper technique and a steadfast practice ethic. Kathleen requests parental support--parents should encourage practice at home so the student will always feel prepared for lessons. This aspect maintains a positive learning environment during lessons.
