Hi, my name is Kara! I'm a Belmont University graduate living in Nashville. I love teaching singing and live/in-studio recording techniques to students of all ages! I have 3 years of professional teaching experience, coupled with 12 years of performance experience under the teachings of a Master-level instructor. I teach all genres, including Musical Theatre and offer help with songwriting/artist development. No matter what your experience level, I strive to help every student reach their full potential! I take an individual approach to teaching, basing our lesson plan on the students needs and goals. I incorporate proper technique into lessons, as I believe it is the basis of healthy singing to learn diaphragmatic breathing, how to use vowels/consonants for diction and projection, how to define and use our various vocal registers and how to command a stage. I use a mix of classical and commercial technique to ensure that my students achieve the sound they want! Some of the highlights of my career: Completing a year long student-teacher apprenticeship w/ vocal instructor, Chrys Rowe, Studying Music Business and Classical Voice w/ an emphasis on Commercial Music at Belmont University, Singing BGV's for the Johnny Cash family, Sheryl Crowe, & Ronnie Dunn to name a few, Working as a vocalist and songwriter with notable producers in Nashville and Jacksonville, such as Shannon Sanders (India.Arie, John Legend, P!nk) and Norro Wilson (Kenny Chesney, Reba McEntire, George Strait).
