Beginning students can expect to play from the very beginning lesson.  I use structured method books to teach note-reading and technique, and combine these with games to teach music theory, ear-training, and composition/improv.  Intermediate students can expect a broad range of musical styles, help with their own pieces that they wish to learn, as well as theory and musicianship skills enforced!

Hi, there! My name is Kara and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2000 and have loved helping my students learn to play the piano, read music and become wonderful young musicians . I studied music in college and earned a degree in 1990.  I'm a friendly and mature person and my teaching style is fun, gentle and patient. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

I also offer pre-school instruction using the Wunderkeys program, designed to help children ages 3 - 5 learn to play the piano and improve their mathematical ability!  I would love to work with your child!
