Teaching since:

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Master's Degree in Multiple Woodwind Performance on Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet. I have experience teaching everyone from beginner's to college music majors.

Originally from the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock n Roll: Memphis, TN, now based In Brooklyn, NY, I am an active woodwind doubler on saxophone, flute, clarinet, and world flutes. As a performer, I have played a wide variety of styles and venues. I am versed in classical, jazz, rock, soul music, musical theater, and more. I have performed with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, the Memphis Jazz Orchestra, backed touring artists like the legendary Dr. John. I spent time playing on cruise ships with the B.B. King All-Star Band and in Theater and Jazz bands aboard the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. I have played over 20 musicals in the last couple of years including 3 national tours and Elf the Musical at Madison Square Garden.

As a teacher, I have taught private lessons for about 9 years. In addition, I have taught master classes, coached honor band clinics, taught college theory classes, worked as marching band staff, and conducted bands.

I love music and I love getting others to love music as well. I have taught music to students of all ages and all levels and I understand the importance of tailoring lessons to each individual student's needs so they are able to achieve whatever they want to do, whether that is to pursue a career in music or just to learn an instrument as a new hobby. My goal for students is to give them the fundamental skills necessary to be successful as a player and to teach them how to practice effectively on their own. I want my students to be excited about learning new things and to gain a better appreciation for all types of music.

If you want to improve your playing, your music reading, your ear, or anything else, please contact me! I would love to help you along your musical journey!
