Hi there! My name is Dr. Julie Baker. I am a teacher, performer and music educator dedicated to helping my students become better musicians. I offer my students effective methods so that they see better results in a shorter amount of time. We do not have to practice ALL the TIME- we jut need to practice better. As a teacher, it is my job to know which tools work best for every practice situation and show you, the student how to use them. It is this technique, that has allowed me to to see success whether through teaching appointments, competitions, or concert settings, but also for my students to be successful. In the last year, my students have placed as finalists in competitions like the Kentucky Flute Society, Central Ohio Flute Association, Dayton Classical Rising Stars, OMEA Solo & Ensemble. They have won music scholarships for college as majors and non-majors. My students have won college scholarships, qualified for flute competitions, honor bands, All-State band and performed well in auditions because we focus on outcome based flute playing. One of the reasons my students are successful is because I have done many of the things they are aspiring to do. All-State Band and Orchestra, college auditions, scholarship auditions, competitions are all experiences I have navigated successfully.
