Currently in the Five Forks area located in my home studio for the time being.

I am an instructor and the owner of my own of Blackbird Music! I teach a large variety of styles and I use many different techniques/methods when teaching. I have years of experience teaching Children of all ages, teens, and even Adults!

I am one of the very few Contemporary Music Instructors in the upstate. Even though my style of teaching focuses on contemporary I teach a large variety of styles. From the Beatles to Kelly Clarkson to Ella Fitzgerald to Led Zeppelin to Chris Stapleton.

I teach various instruments such as:
Music Theory,
Song Writing,
and *Musical Theatre.

This gives you the option to change your mind in what you want to learn without changing teachers! *This includes monologues and singing prep for auditions and/or performances.

Opportunities for students to perform will be made available.

I am available M-Thur: 1pm-8:30pm and Friday: 9am-4pm.

Julie has been teaching private lessons since 2006 and is currently available to teach lessons at her home studio in five forks (Online instruction is available for long distance).

Julie perfected her profession during her time in Atlanta at Point University in 2006-2010 where she received a degree in Music.

She teaches all ages from children to adult, as well as all experience levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced, audition prep* various styles as well as for artists that are signed to labels.
*Trained in audition prep for major programs such as The Voice, America’s Got Talent to theatre and competition events.

Although taught the traditional teaching methods, Julie developed her own successful contemporary method of teaching to positively enhance the student€™s strength, dexterity, ear-training, memorization and techniques. Her goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician. As the owner of a private studio Julie is also able to provide opportunities, such as, Music education clinics for deeper study, recitals and live performances for her students to gain experience and confidence.

Lessons are scheduled to best fit to the student'€™s schedule when possible. Julie is a very patient instructor and always understands that students learn at a different pace, after all everyone learns in their own way and that way is what works best for them.
