I will help you be able to sit down at the piano and tap out a tune! I'm pretty "old school" when it comes to technique and reading music scores, but very innovative and creative when organizing practice material and lesson plans. Keep it interesting, move forward and learn! I will make your learning fun so you will keep coming back for more!
I assisted with children's choir at my church for over a decade and my passion is working with children and parents to further a deep love for music and learning.
I have almost always participated in adult choir at church. I love being immersed in music and the sounds of harmony make my heart happy. I have sung with every type of choir from specialized diocesan choir, to advanced choir to ensembles, including folk mass style of ensembles. I have participated in Christmas programs and have also sung as a cantor at mass, including singing for specialty ceremonies at church.+ Read More
This was a volunteer position with the music ministry at St. Jude's. I worked with Michelle Rego, and directed the students while they were singing, ran rehearsals when the director was unavailable to, and helped with teaching the children basics about singing. In the later years, I helped Michelle develop a specialty children's ensemble choir who performed specifically for the Bishop and at the Bishop's special events.
My specialty and true love is working with children ages 5-12. The special relationship and bond I built with the children I worked with has been amazing!
I wrote a children's Christmas song for the choir to sing at Christmas mass.
I participated in children's choir at my church and school from a very early age! I was taught how to read music and basic instruction on tons of instruments! I was cast as Mary in the Christmas play in the 8th grade and sang many other solo roles. I was also chosen by the director to learn to play the recorder for a specific program we were performing for the parents.
My young music exposure created a love of music and brings me such joy to be able to share that love with my students!
Judy is a warm and caring person who enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of music with others. Her instruction of my kids was nothing short of inspirational - giving them a solid foundation of music theory and encouraging and bringing out their natural abilities. I highly recommend Judy as an instructor!+ Read More
I LOVEE JUDY. She has helped me grow as a musician in so many ways. She is the entire reason I became a musician and one of the most encouraging instructors I've ever encountered! Without her I wouldn't be where I am today! She has helped me not just with music but also with life, sometimes I feel like she's my second mom. I love taking lessons with her.+ Read More
Judy was so patient and kind during my lessons! I had never really been into learning music, I was always more of a sports fan but I wanted to something new. Needless to say, I had NO background in anything musical. Judy was so patient with me and helped me at the speed I needed to be taught. I could not have hada a better teacher. I was able to surprise my Fiancee with a Christmas song because how much she was able to teach me. I have learned so much from her and I plan on going back to her when I want to take my piano skills to the next level. I HIGHLY recommend Judy. She was also very flexible with my schedule which is always a plus!!+ Read More
