I have been a full-time performer and teacher for over a decade. I hold a Masters degree in classical performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where I studied with Grammy award-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux, and I hold an undergraduate degree from the University of the Arts in jazz performance. My performance career has taken me across the United States, to Europe, and to Asia. Highlights from the 2016-17 concert season include performances with the Columbus Symphony with soloist Rachel Barton-Pine and CityMusic Cleveland Chamber Orchestra, among others. The 2017-18 concert season includes concerts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
As a teacher, I’m equally comfortable with kids and life-long learners. I'm very curious and always learning, and I love to share that inquisitive spirit with my students. Lessons will be structured around music that you enjoy, whether that is rock, classical, or jazz. Music theory and technique will be incorporated into the lesson from day one, but never at the expense of making music. I look forward to meeting you!
At ASM I taught private guitar lessons to students studying classical, jazz, and rock, as well as rock ensemble and jazz ensemble.
Private guitar instructor at the Laurel School for Girls in Shaker Heights, Ohio. In addition to teaching private lessons, responsibilities included coaching the school rock band.
Private guitar instructor at the Music Training Center in Marlton, NJ.
Josh is a very good guitar teacher. He has an eye for detail, and is able to get the younger children to focus. If your ever in Ohio again we would love to have you teach our daughter.
