I have an associates degree in guitar performance from the Musicians Institute(GIT). I have been teaching locally (Maryland) for 4 years at my studio and decided it was time to make the big move to Nashville. I have studied under Jamie Findlay, Greg Harrison, Jeff Richman, Ken Steiger and learned from many more. I play solo and band gigs around the Nashville area.
*** Lesson Details ***
We are all students! Whether it is guitar or saxophone, you need to have a good foundation to build upon. Learning to read Music is a great way to start that, and eventually we will dive into the more technical studies. We'll also learn a bit of theory along the way. The ultimate goal is to speak the language of music fluently, and have fun doing so.
*** Studio Equipment ***
2 practice amps, an MP3 player, a music stand, iPad
*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide a practice amp, tuner, metronome, all the sheet music, books, and my laptop/iPod(they have backing tracks to jam with). I expect the student to have their own guitar, music stand, neck strap, and guitar pick. For saxophone students they need their own instrument. I also use these books for new students:
Guitar- Hal Leonards complete guitar method
Saxophone- standard of excellence vol 1 or accent on achievement volume 1
I teach students based on the individual. I do not clump students together based on pre-conceptions about skill level and technique. Each student gets there own practice schedule, which I make for them. I mix what I learned at MI with my own methods.
Please Read! My schedule fluctuates quite a bit. If you are interested in booking a lesson please send me a message first and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I do have time available during the week for lessons.
