I am a tutor who earned a music teaching degree and didn't want to be a school teacher. I worked professional jobs in retail and tech sales and have come back to teaching.
Whatever subject or instrument I teach, I always make sure to work with the student first. I enjoy helping learners have new aha moments.
The majority of my students take guitar, bass guitar, or Spanish lessons, though I am an educator and help my students learn other skills and knowledge sets too.
I went to Ohio State University for college, earned a BA in Music Education, and graduated Kum Laude. I also spent 4 years in the Ohio State University Marching Band, partially to rehab a brain injury.
Through my healing journey, I've developed patience, insight, and understanding for my students' learning processes.
Practice is a must in order to develop the necessary skills that demonstrate learning.
I'm excited to help you incorporate new skills into your life!
We specialize in helping students develop the basic learning skills that allow for successful academic learning to happen.
I believe every person can realize their personal potential and live fully-expressed.
Our world is changing more rapidly than ever and our schools are incentivized to focus on testing, our students are not being taught how to adapt and think adaptively to the jobs that will exist when they graduate college.
My mission is to help students construct a mental framework of tangible academic and life skills that help them confidently and creatively engage with our increasingly changing world.
Teesnap is a revolutionary new end-to-end technology solution for golf courses. I have the opportunity to help those golf courses utilize Teesnap to optimize their revenue stream and profitability.
I was responsible for achieving sales goals while providing the highest possible level of customer service.
I prided myself in helping people understand their devices, not only showing customers the basics, but also helping them understand the system so they could help themselves with future questions.
I received a professional Teaching Certificate from the State of Ohio. The certificate has expired as I am not a formal teacher, however my teaching strategies are built on the solid foundation of a professional educator.
In search of helping our 10 year old son build some self-confidence we sought out clarinet lessons this summer. He started playing in school last year, and it was something our reluctant son liked "enough" to want to build up some competency. Joshua has been amazing! He finds just the right amount of challenge to encourage my son to practice, but not get discouraged. My son looks forward to his lesson each week and told me that he isn't even sure he wants to switch to saxophone next year because he is having so much fun playing the clarinet. Joshua is amazing with children, and has spent time getting to know our kiddo and find out what will work best for him. Patient, calm, and inspiring--very talented instructor.+ Read More
Joshua Blatman is a fantastic music teacher. He has a great resume, is experienced in a variety of instruments, and a solid background in teaching.
I think any kids lucky enough to learn music from Joshua will have fun and hopefully fall in love with learning it, just like my kids have.
I whole-heartedly recommend Joshua for anyone of any age and any skill level who wants to enrich their life learning guitar. I appreciate the fact that he makes the time and has the patience to adapt to my needs. Joshua is flexible in scheduling - especially for those unforeseen incidents - which is appreciated.
Being an adult beginner with music lessons, Joshua eases my frustration on immediately wanting to play perfect notes and chords. I look forward to continuing lessons.
My 8 year old raved about Joshua being her favorite teacher after her first lesson. Joshua creates a lesson plan that's incredibly effective, time efficient, and focused on empowering the students passion for music. My daughter felt safe in his home and we were both impressed by his teaching tools in addition to his guitar collection. Last, he's got a great attitude and is relentlessly positive. Highly recommend!+ Read More
I'd like to write a quick testimonial about the tutor I found here on Takelessons. Joshua has worked with my 1st grade brother for about 8 weeks and he has made impressive progress in both his reading and math skills. He has also helped discover my brothers learning condition, dyslexia, but it seems like Joshua has had no problem with that. My brother has enjoyed working with him and is demonstrating new learning, this delights me. Joshua has also developed a fun relationship with my other brothers too. I could not more strongly recommend Joshua to tutor any student.+ Read More
Josh is good and was good at helping us set reasonable goals. It was fun!
