My goal as a teacher is to help you find your own voice on the instrument, while putting an emphasis on learning proper technique and music theory. Whether you're a complete beginner or you're trying to make it as a pro musician, I'd like to help you meet your goals and enrich your life with music. Hi, my name is Joseph! I'm a professional guitarist and composer with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. I regularly perform with bands in all different genres and have been teaching for 5 years. In 2022, I released my debut album "Unleashed" with all original music. My students have gone on to perform, write their own music, and even record albums. Topics I regularly cover with students: - Learning to play music by ear - Guitar technique for effortless playing - Music theory that's easy to understand and use - Soloing and improvisation - Songwriting/Composition - Audition preparation All ages, all levels, all styles I teach in person at my home studio in NE Portland, as well as online. Must be fully vaccinated and wear a mask for in person lessons.
