Hello there! I have over 6 years of experience as a piano and voice instructor. I taught students of all ages, from children ages 5-17 to adults ranging from age 18 to late 60s. I have taught students at ability levels ranging from the very beginning stages to students doing more intermediate/advanced pieces such as “Maple Leaf Rag”, “Mozart Sonata No. 16 in C”, and “Rondo Alla Turca”. In addition to classical piano, I've taught almost all other styles of Western music, particularly pop, rock, jazz, and R&B. For teaching voice, I have also worked with a wide range of ages. I have taught classical voice, pop, R&B, and jazz, always teaching the fundamentals no matter what genre. I also always incorporate a bit of piano for each of my vocal students, typically enough for them to find notes and play a few warm-ups for themselves. As a musician I have some professional experience as a singer and an accompanist. I perform as a vocal soloist, an accompanist, a church chorus member, an opera chorus member, and have participated in a few jazz and pop bands. As a teacher, my philosophy is to help students reach their goals. So, what you want to learn will dictate what direction we go in our lessons. I can't wait get started with you in your musical journey!
