I love music and it is my greatest joy to share that love of music with others! I believe as a teacher, my most important job is to build confidence in my students. Confidence not only in their technique, but also in their creative potential. I try to accomplish this goal by including improvisation, composition, arranging, music theory, music history, and much more in my lessons. Want to figure out how to play a top 40 piece while learning Mozart? I've got you! I want my students to leave every lesson feeling like they can accomplish anything, nothing is too hard or not for them.

About Jordan P.

I am a classically trained violinist with a Bachelor of Music Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University. I am a professional violinist, vocalist, and arranger.

I perform in a variety of styles including Jazz, Hip-hop, and pop. I tour with Thee Phantom and The Ill-Harmonic Orchestra and have arranged pieces for this group that have been performed at the Tobin Performing Arts Center in San Antonio Texas and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. I perform locally as a violinist and vocalist as well, and I have managed several local bands.

As a teacher, I want my students to build confidence and have a fantastic time while working hard and making great strides. I work with every student to work with their individual goals and availability so that they can see success and growth in their technique and musicianship. I have a heavy emphasis on technique and my students can expect to receive regular exercises to expand their technical proficiency. Additionally, I believe it is very important for every student to love what they are playing so I work with students on picking pieces, arranging music, and even composing their own works, so that they have a full experience.

I believe that great technique fosters confidence and excitement. Even though I am very interested and excited in having a wide variety of musical genres explored, I believe that creating a strong foundation is the key to success.

We were referred to Jordan by a friend after having a hard time finding reasonably priced violin lessons for our daughter. Jordan did a great job! We worked with her for a couple years and saw a lot of progress in our daughter’s skill level. Our daughter learned a lot in terms of actual musical skill and confidence. I would recommend her!

Violin Teacher, Chamber Music Coach, Orchestra Conductor

Open Access to Music Education

As a violin teacher, I worked with students ranging in age from 4 to 18 with a variety of ability as their private instructor. My private lessons students performed at the annual concert with the organization but also assisted them in solo and group performances at their churches and schools throughout the year. I worked with my students on a variety of musical styles with a focus on classical and sacred music. I worked with many of my older students on arrangements of popular music pieces and worked with them to create their own arrangements. I worked with the premiere chamber music group in the program that performed on behalf of the organization at fundraising events and master classes.
