Cello with Jonathan M.

Hello there and welcome! My name is Jonny and I am a St. Louis based cellist. I obtained my Bachelor’s in Cello Performance at the University of Missouri – St Louis where I studied under Kurt Baldwin (cellist of the Arianna String Quartet). While at UMSL, I had the privilege of being the UMSL Symphony Orchestra’s principal cellist for three years. I've also had the opportunity to study chamber and orchestral music at the Arianna Chamber Music Festival, the Marrowstone Music Festival, the Madeline Island Chamber Music Festival, and other such summer programs. I maintain an active teaching schedule and love to actively share music in retirement centers, churches, and child care facilities. I find the cello and music both immensely fulfilling in my personal life My goal in teaching is to help others discover all that these experiences have to offer. There is something for everyone to gain and love with this wonderful instrument. I have experience teaching all ages and experience levels and we can easily make the cello work for you. I am very excited to get started and dive in together!
