My daughter just took her first lesson with John and it went very well. His style is easy going which made learning fun for her. She is looking forward to more lessons with John.

I met John in 2008 when I opened "Music One" in Carlsbad. John auditioned as a guitar instructor and it was clear, his passion and skills towards teaching guitar/music was very special. John was the first teacher I hired and if given the chance, he would be my first choice again.

John has taught guitar to both of our sons for many years. In addition to being a great guitar instructor, John is an all around great guy. Our eldest son can read music and play by ear. He tends to be less of a "performer" than our younger son, and John was able to get him out of his shell and perform for an audience at a musical showcase during the holidays. John also dipped into musical theory. We would highly recommend John as a guitar instructor....he understands kids and teens and teaches them to play what interests them. The best reward for parents is hearing the kids pick up and play without nagging them to practice!!
