I love playing and teaching the violin, and I'm so excited to share my experience with you! I have over a decade of experience with students of all backgrounds and experience levels. My time at The Juilliard School has prepared me well for whatever challenge you would like to take on together. Whether that is growing your love of the instrument, learning a new piece, finding better practice skills, or audition preparation.

Congratulations on taking an amazing first step into learning the violin, and I look forward to meeting you in our first lesson.

About Jocelyn Z.

I have been teaching privately for over a decade, utilizing a blend of methods designed to help students discover violin technique and music theory, as well as develop skills in hypothesis and deduction that will help them become independent musicians and artists. My students have gone on to The Juilliard School Pre-College Division, and have won competitions throughout the tri-state area. In addition to my private studio, I have taught extensively through my nonprofit, Concerts for Compassion. In partnership with the United Nations and Red Cross, I've taught violin to refugee children in over 30 countries throughout Europe and Central America. I'm also a teaching artist at the 92Y, and a guest lecturer and educator at The Juilliard School’s Chamber Music and Community Service Course.

My studio comprises of students from diverse backgrounds, ages, musical levels, and performance experience. In addition to individual lessons, you will have the opportunity to take part in my studio classes and recitals. It's a wonderful chance to meet other students and foster your musical community to support your work.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Jocelyn has been an absolute inspiration to me during our lessons. I was a bit nervous trying digital lessons with a new teacher, but she was an INCREDIBLE help to me as a violinist. Definitely book a few lessons with her.

Jocelyn is an incredible violin teacher. I have improved a great deal under her guidance over the past two years. I felt a bit nervous trying a new teacher to begin, but she made me feel welcome, and wasn't judgmental or tough to work with. Would highly recommend of you're looking for digital violin tutors!

Feb 2021

University of Buffalo

Overview of ADHD diagnosis and treatment. (Note these course activities are informational and are not intended to replace working with a licensed/trained professional). Learning Objectives: Students will be able to identify the behaviors characteristic of ADHD, the components of a diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment procedures that can be used in the school or home. 1. Identify the key areas of functional impairment, symptom presentation, and diagnostic decision-making for youth with ADHD. 2. Develop a behavioral intervention suitable for treating ADHD in the school setting. 3. Apply effective parenting and teaching strategies for supporting youth with ADHD in the home, classroom, and neighborhood.
