We will follow a Guitar lesson plan, use practice journals, show you the basics, and you can then learn songs of your choice. You will learn the rhythm Guitar standard chords, advanced chords, power chords, barre chords, string techniques, music theory, music dynamics, picking/strumming, and alternate chord positions for sound/variety using transitions with chord progressions. I can teach popular music styles from 1920's to Current hits in your chosen styles and genre.

I was a music DJ on a radio station and am presently a radio Senior Manager.
I taught myself to play guitar. I have gone to school for music.
I have been a teacher all my life.
I have played guitar and vocals in 3 bands and have played in coffee houses, schools and churches for years. I am college trained in voice, performance, music theory, composition, and have played most instruments. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music & Communications.

I have a tuner, cords, guitar amplifier, on-line computer, and a sitting area if you come with a friend or family. You need to bring your guitar, practice sheets, music journal books, and digital recorder (if you want to record a session).
Experienced Acoustic Guitar teacher with over 25 years playing the Guitar and over 7 years teaching students of all experience levels and ages. Jim B. plans his lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of basic, intermediate, and advanced chord structures, various standard strumming patterns, finger-picking styles, and touches on essential musical theory information. He specializes in popular music from the 1960’s through today’s hits, typically uses one page charts that he has prepared for each song or exercise, and also has the following tools available to use during lessons: music stand, stool, computer, amplifier, guitars, and rhythm instruments.
