About Jim B.
My name is Jim-B. I am a guitarist and vocalist.
When I am not playing a guitar; I like to shoot video,
record music, hike, workout, read, watch movies,
travel, and hang with my wife and family.
YOU ARE NEVER 'too young' or 'too old' TO LEARN guitar.
I love taking the gift of music - give it on to others – then watch them come alive.
MY FOCUS IS TO TEACH YOU AS MUCH ABOUT MUSIC AS I CAN.
So, I’m HERE for YOU, When YOU are ready TO LEARN.
*** Skills that YOU will Develop ***
We will follow a Guitar lesson plan, use practice journals, show you the basics, and you can then learn songs of your choice. You will learn the rhythm Guitar standard chords, advanced chords, power chords, barre chords, string techniques, music theory, music dynamics, picking/strumming, and alternate chord positions for sound/variety using transitions with chord progressions. I can teach popular music styles from 1920's to Current hits in your chosen styles and genre.
I love music - so if you love music - we’ll get along great.
I believe every lesson you take gets you closer to being a guitarist.
I know that every time you pick up the guitar, you improve your talent.
I have promoted many concerts.
I was a music DJ on a radio station and am presently a radio Senior Manager.
I taught myself to play guitar. I have gone to school for music.
I have been a teacher all my life.
I have played guitar and vocals in 3 bands and have played in coffee houses, schools and churches for years. I am college trained in voice, performance, music theory, composition, and have played most instruments. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music & Communications.
I love to learn as much as I love to teach.
I am a web developer.
I am also doing video production.
*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a tuner, cords, guitar amplifier, on-line computer, and a sitting area if you come with a friend or family. You need to bring your guitar, practice sheets, music journal books, and digital recorder (if you want to record a session).

Jim’s lessons are at my pace, not his. I appreciate his patience and willingness to answer any question I may have.
Just the lessons I have been looking for.
Jim is a great guitar instructor - very knowledgeable and easy to follow instructions. Looking forward to my next lesson.
He's the best. Really easy going and nice guy. His wife even makes cookies for each lesson. As a beginner, Jim has streamlined and accelerated my learning ten fold since self teaching myself online. For references he gives you all the materials you need such as the music sheets he makes to form a lesson. They're very concise and easy to follow. I have bar chord sheet he made that's by far the best reference for those chords that I've seen.
It's really a fun experience and he takes joy in helping his students learn. Highly recommended.
Jim is very patient and kind. He helps me with different techniques and positions for holding the guitar for my fingers on the harder cords.
Jim is a great guy and excellent teacher, but was not up to date on the oldies instrumentals and that was my main profile request. I did learn things from him in other areas that will help me with other songs. Thank you
Very patient instructor! Love that he read my student questionnaire and formatted sessions based on my experience (just a little) and likes/dislikes. I can't wait for class each week; definitely recommend Jim to any student.
Mr. Baer is an excellent instructor. I am having a lot of fun learning guitar. My family really enjoys listening to me play and they are really impressed with my progress.
Jim makes learning exciting and fun. He is very patient, and allows the student to work on any stumbling blocks for themselves. Giving direction when needed, but letting the student truly "learn" as they do it. I would recommend him to any beginner!
We were a little nervous about our son begining lessons. Jim works directly with him and from the start inspired him to learn. He never complains about practicing and the positive atmosphere and clear feedback on his performance from Jim keep him motivated. We couldn't be happier.Show More
My daughter loves learning guitar from Jim. She really looks forward to their lessons together. He is very patient, and makes learning the guitar fun.
Keeping it fun...
Jim is a great guitar teacher. I knew nothing about guitars before going to Jim. He has been very patient with me. And he keeps the lessons fun,,,!
Jim B is an amazing teacher! He knows just how to break down a song or a lesson to help a student understand and learn it quickly, and he's fun and adaptable. I would highly recommend him if you're looking for a great guitar instructor!!
Jim has given me confidence that I can actually become a guitar player. He is very patient, but at the same time he is challenging me to do more. These are qualities of a great instructor! I look forward to my lessons and I am excited to go home and practice.
Jim is awesome, he is really good with children. Jackson is 8 and is learning cords and transition, having fun at same time. Jim is very patient when working with enthusiastic ( at times hyper ) young boy.Very happy with the lessons!!!
My daughter is really enjoying her weekly lessons with Jim. She is progressing quickly and is a natural teacher. We look forward to continuing our lessons with Jim.
Great work! My son is really enjoying the progress!
Very good teacher!
My son Jared has already learned two songs and has only been taking lessons for a short time. He took the time to understand the best way to teach my son and then proceeded. Jim is a great teacheer and recommend him to anyone :)
Jim is a wonderful teacher!!!
My daughter has learned so much in a short amount of time. She is really enjoying her lessons & looks forward to them each week. Thank you Jim for your patience & encouragement!
