I started my musical career soon after I picked up the guitar at the age of thirteen. Shortly after gaining proficiency on my instrument, I began composing short classical guitar pieces and made arrangements of popular Christian songs for the guitar. My performing and compositional talents have inspired me to write for the guitar. I hold a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Composition and a
Master’s of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of Texas at San Antonio. During my studies I received the Reed Holmes Memorial Award for Composition and was a finalist in the University of Texas at San Antonio 10th and 11th Annual Concerto and Aria Competitions and an Honorable Mention in the El Paso Symphony Guild Concerto Competition. I'm also a member of the Phi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Fraternity, Golden Key International Honor Society and the 2001 US/Mexico Guitar Orchestra. I have had the pleasure to participate in masterclasses with world-renowned
classical guitarists such as David Russell, Pepe Romero, Sergio Assad and William Kanengeiser.
Additionally, I have premiered compositions for the Society of Composers Incorporated and have taught music theory and guitar at the Musical Arts Center of San Antonio, St. Phillip’s College, University of the Incarnate Word, Concordia Lutheran School, and Baldwin Academic and Fine Arts Magnet Middle School in Montgomery, Alabama where I directed the Baldwin Electric Guitar Ensemble, and Banjo Band.
