Classically trained pianist for 14 years. Students will study music from all time periods from baroque to modern and develop a variety of music theory skills including sight reading, ear training, and technic. I want my students to not only meet their musical goals, but also gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of music in the process!

I started playing the piano when I was 4 years old, and studied with Jane Bastien from 2004-2018. During that time, I participated in a variety of competitions and festivals, including MTAC's Sonata Contest and festivals held by the National Federation of Music Clubs. Mrs. Bastien cultivated in me a passion for music and one of my biggest goals as a teacher is to spread the love of music to my students!

Although I trained as a classical pianist, I have served as an accompanist for several different ensembles performing various musical genres. I love all types of music and will customize each lesson based on my students' individual needs and goals. I am currently a fourth-year undergraduate student at UC San Diego.

We have had the best experience with Jessica!  She has worked with my kids (ages 7 and 9 - both beginners) for about five months now.  She is always so kind, patient, and encouraging.  Jessica has instilled a love of piano in them both and they are so proud of all they have learned.  Not only is Jessica a talented, knowledgeable musician herself but she is incredibly professional - always on time and has great communication skills.  I am so grateful we found her!  I wholeheartedly recommend Jessica for students from beginner to advanced.

Jessica is a great teacher.  She has helped me be able to play so much more expressively, and sees fine details in a piece that I would definitely have missed. It seems like every week I am amazed because she is able to help improve some new part of my playing.   Definitely recommended.
