Singing with Jessica B.

Jessica B. has been a performer and a singer since she was a child. In addition to studying piano from age 7, she began performing with musical theater, singing in local productions such as The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Music Man, where she gained valuable stage experience. It was during this time that Jessica first realized her passion for teaching, as she found she enjoyed helping the other performers work on their music and help them achieve their greatest potential as a performer. In high school, Jessica continued to perform in musical theater as well as choir, and began taking private voice lessons, where she started studying classical voice. After college, Jessica pursued her Masters in Vocal Performance from California State University, Northridge, where she gained experience in performing opera and also studied vocal pedagogy (the science of teaching voice!). It was in her vocal pedagogy class that Jessica discovered her talent and passion for teaching! Jessica is a creative, flexible, adaptable teacher, who puts the student first. Jessica's first concern is always the vocal health of the student, and uses that as the basis for teaching a safe and healthy technique that will preserve the student's voice for years to come. Although Jessica specializes in musical theater and classical voice/opera, Jessica teaches any style of music, including pop, jazz, and R&B. In order to really experience Jessica's teaching style, please book a trial lesson! *** Studio Equipment *** Piano or keyboard *** Travel Equipment *** A piano or keyboard is necessary for voice lessons. If the student doesn't have access to a piano or keyboard at their home, I would prefer that they come to my studio in Hidden Hills where I have a piano and a wonderful room with fantastic acoustics where I teach. *** Specialties *** Opera and musical theater are my specialties, but I do teach any style, including pop, jazz, R&B, etc.
